Status can be checked online, PIO cannot say application wasn't received, it's faster, online record is maintained, first appeal and second appeal can be filed online (in most cases).
Almost all govt departments/ministries covered. In case a specific department is not covered then file RTI with the ministry concerned through the website. Each transfer to the concerned department is shown on the website in your account with email id and tele no of the PIO to whom it has been transferred.
Online receipt of application instantly generated on completion of payment and SMS also is received.
