India is a going a sea change in service tax structure and we moved to a negative list regime wef 01 Jul 12. Negative list in simple terms can be stated as shift from taxation of 119 service-specific descriptions to a new regime whereby all services will be taxed unless they are covered by any of the entries in the negative list or are otherwise exempted.
So if you are a service tax payee than remember that service tax returns for the period 01 April 2012 to 30 June 2012 are to be filed before 25 November 2012.
