Triveni Engineering & Industries (TEIL) is a diversified company with business interests in sugar, industrial alcohol, gear boxes and turbines, water treatments other engineering activities. It was incorporated on July 27, 1932 and got its present name on Aug. 31, 2000. The ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001-2004 certified company has sugar mills at Khatauli, Deoband, Ramkola, Chandanpur, Milak Narayanpur, and Rani Nangal in Uttar Pradesh with a total capacity of 54,500 TCD.
The Deoband and Khatauli units have a combined power co-generation capacity of 68 MW generating carbon credits, of which approximately 43 MW to 45 MW of electricity is exported to the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation grid under a power purchase agreement. Industrial alcohol, rectified spirit and extra neutral alcohol are manufactured using molasses at the 760 liters per day distillery unit at Muzafarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. The steam turbine business caters to industry needs upto 22 MW capacity. Orders in hand valued at Rs.4.68 billion, which is around 85% of estimated product revenue for FY08. Agreements are in place with GE Oil & Gas Operations LLC, USA for packaging and marketing high-speed reciprocating compressors and with Lufkin, USA for manufacturing precision components for Schlumberger, USA and France. The gears business group has an outstanding order book of Rs.408 million as on Sept. 30, 2007
The water and waste water management business group is into providing engineered-to-order process equipment and plants with the entire range of water and wastewater treatment solutions. Some of the projects completed in FY07 include effluent recycling job for Giral Power Project in Rajasthan through Tara Projects; an order for high purity system for large power plants, namely a water treatment plant for 2 x 300 MW for Lance, Korea plant. With a focus on exports, the company has entered the high-technology demanding markets of Italy, Spain and UK among other countries. It has an agreement with Beijing Beizhong Stem Turbine Generator, China, for distributing and marketing its products The registered office is located at Deoband, Saharanpur-247554, Uttar Pradesh.
