It is very important that one keeps on checking the bank statement else one may find a large number of excess charges have been deducted.
Like you can see in the below screen shot in serial no 2 and 4, ICICI bank has levied us charges of Rs 882.40 and Rs 551.50 on 19 Dec 2011 as charges for cash deposited from non base branch by clients. The items in red are the debits which are transaction charges levied by ICICI bank. However; this is a first instance that such type of hefty charges have been levied because we maintain much higher amount than laid down average quarterly balance.

So we spoke to branch manage on phone and he was happy to help us as we are their premium client and he has agreed to waive off those charges and we were asked to submit a request on company letter pad and excess he promised that excess transaction charges will be refunded.
Recovery of Excess Bank Charges
Every branch manager has some fund allotted by a bank for reimbursement of charges earmarked for each month. So, if you find that you have been charged the excess amount which you feel is not appropriate, put the complaint in writing and excess charges will be refunded. This procedure of taking case with branch manager needs to be followed with diligence to get the refund from the bank and earlier you take the better it is for your financial health.
