Incorporated on Feb. 24, 2005, Omkar Speciality Chemicals is mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of specialty chemicals viz. selenium compounds, iodine compounds, molybdenum compounds etc. and pharma intermediates viz. Potassium Iodate, Bismuth Ammonium Citrate, Bromoform etc. It has four units at MIDC, Thane. At present, it is carrying out it`s manufacturing activities at two units viz. Unit 1 and Unit 2. It has recently set up a new manufacturing facility at B-34, MIDC, Maharashtra viz. Unit 3 with an installed capacity of 200 MT. The commercial production at Unit 3 is likely to start in the month of March, 2011. With the set up of Unit 3, the total installed capacity stands increased to 950 MT. Total income accounted for Rs 515.54 million in the six month period ended Sep. 30, 2010. Sales from products manufactured by the company accounted to 86.46% and sales from products traded by the Company accounted to 13.54% of its gross sales. Meanwhile, net profit for the period ended Sep. 30, 2010 was Rs 50.48 million, accounting to 9.79% of the total income.
