UCAL Fuel Systems (UCALFUEL), part of the Ucal group, provides holistic solutions in fuel management systems. It was incorporated on Nov. 4, 1985 as a joint venture company with Mikuni Corporation, Japan and converted into a public limited company on Sept. 12, 1989. The company manufactures gasoline fuel injection system products, engine management systems, carburetors, products for diesel applications and emission control including two-wheeler carburetors, four-wheelers throttle body assemblies, fuel rail assemblies, high pressure fuel filters, four-wheeler carburetors, gasoline fuel pumps, diesel oil pump assemblies, vacuum pump assemblies, air compressors, electronic solenoid fuel pumps, genset carburetors, aluminum and zinc high pressure die cast parts, and precision machine parts. The three manufacturing facilities are located in Chennai and Gurgaon with its R&D and EMS centers in Chennai.
The company has technological support from Mikuni and has developed various new products including oil pumps and vacuum pumps for the Maruti diesel business, EGR controllers and EGR valves for small engines, PCV valves for Maruti, and lift pumps for Cummins among other products. Mikuni and the company have jointly developed the vacuum pump and the DCP fuel injection for two-wheelers. The subsidiaries of the company include Ucal Machine Tools, Ucal Polymer Industries and AMTEC Precision Products, Inc., USA (AMTEC). As a most preferred supplier, the company caters to Maruti Udyog, Hyundai, General Motors, Bosch, Mikuni, Cummins, Bajaj Auto, Suzuki, TVS Motor Company, Hero Honda Motors and Yamaha to name a few.
