Here's what's NEW and UPDATED in the taxation landscape:
✅ Equity Gains:
STCG rate increased to 20% (from 15%) for sales after July 23, 2024
LTCG remains at 12.5% for gains above ₹1.25L (Sec 112A)
✅ Debt Mutual Funds (Post-April 2023):
All gains = STCG @ slab, no indexation, no LTCG classification (Sec 50AA)
✅ Life Insurance Maturity (Non-ULIPs):
Policies issued after April 1, 2023 with premium > ₹5L/year are now taxable (Sec 10(10D)
✅ Gold ETFs, FoFs, International Funds:
From April 1, 2025, LTCG @ 12.5% after 24 months
Earlier: taxed at slab rate only
