One of the cars was built by James William Lambert, one of America's early automobile pioneers. The story goes that he hit a tree root, lost control, and ran straight into the only other car in the state. No injuries, just the first recorded car accident in U.S. history.
Let that sink in. With a whole state to drive around in, two people still managed to collide.
