Who Am I?
After retirement, becoming idle, and being left alone, I experienced a profound awakening of self-realisation. Please read and reflect carefully…
Who Am I ?
I built bungalow, created farmhouse, and invested in flat,
Yet now, I find myself trapped within four walls.
I started with a bicycle, then bought a moped, a bike, and later cars,
Yet now, I walk barefoot in my room.
Nature smiled and asked, "Who are you, my friend?"
I replied, "I am… Me."
I travelled across states, nations, and foreign lands,
Yet now, my journey is limited to the drawing room and kitchen.
I explored various cultures and traditions,
Yet now, I try to understand my own family.
Nature smiled and asked, "Who are you, my friend?"
I replied, "I am… Me."
I celebrated birthdays, engagements, and weddings with grandeur,
Yet now, I budget my grocery expenses.
Once, I made extra rotis for cows and dogs,
Yet now, I barely eat a few morsels myself.
Nature smiled and asked, "Who are you, my friend?"
I replied, "I am… Me."
Gold, silver, diamonds, and pearls—
All locked away in a safe.
Suits, and blazers—
All neatly packed in the wardrobe.
Yet now, I walk around proudly in a simple cotton outfit.
Nature smiled and asked, "Who are you, my friend?"
I replied, "I am… Me."
I learned English, French, Hindi,
Yet now, I read the news in my mother tongue, Hindi!
Nature smiled and asked, "Who are you, my friend?"
I replied, "I am… Me."
For work, I travelled endlessly,
Yet now, I reflect on its pros and cons.
I built a business, raised a family, and formed many relationships,
Yet now, my closest connection is with my neighbour.
I followed thousands of rules while studying,
Yet now, I rely on practical wisdom.
After a lifetime of struggles and worldly pursuits,
For the first time, while rotating prayer beads in my hands,
I finally heard the voice of my soul.
Now, enough is enough…
Wake up, traveller. It's time to prepare for the final journey home.
Nature smiled and asked, "Who are you, my friend? "
I replied:
"O Nature, I am a part of you.
I once soared in the skies, but now, I have returned to the ground.
Forgive Me....
Give Me one more chance to live life the right way.
To live as an actual humans...
To live with values and culture.
To live with family and love
For all retired individuals
Be Blessed
