How did the Pensioners threat in Turkey worked?

In Turkey, elderly pensioners gave an interesting threat to the government for not increasing the pension. They said that if our pension is not increased according to inflation, then we will marry a girl 20 years younger than us. In this way, the government will have to pay pension even 40 to 50 years after our death.  This threat turned out to be so strong that the government immediately increased the pension by 40%!  

Now please don't take this seriously and think too much as a Pensioner in India - no one half the age is waiting for you!
