The National Stock Exchange has announced changes in expiry day of its contracts which will come into effect from January 1, 2025, said the stock exchange in a circular dated November 29.
FINNIFTY, MIDCPNIFTY, and NIFTYNXT50's monthly contracts will expire on last Thursday of the expiry month. While BANKNIFTY's monthly and quarterly contracts will expire on last Thursday of the expiry month.
Earlier, BANKNIFTY's monthly and quarterly contracts expired on last Wednesday of expiry month. While, FINNIFTY, MIDCPNIFTY, and NIFTYNXT50's monthly contracts expired on Tuesday, Monday, and Friday of every expiry month.
All the monthly contracts of Sensex, Bankex and Sensex 50 will expire on the last Tuesday of the month. Currently, the expiry days for the same are the last Friday, last Monday and Thursday respectively.The quarterly and semi-annual contracts of Sensex will expiry on Tuesday of the expiry month, a change from the current last Friday of the expiry month.
