HBL Power - Electric Trucks from 2025-26 onwards
Technology Gap in Electric Drive Trains:
- Critical components such as motors, batteries, and electronics for EVs were being imported by all EV Players.
- HBL identified a technology gap in the industry and initiated in-house development of electric drive trains.
HBL prefers selling directly to niche markets with higher margins rather than high-volume, low-margin business like truck conversion.
Developing new electric trucks (35-ton and 55-ton models) with optimized weight and modern features for higher efficiency.
Charging Infrastructure Development:
- HBL established a subsidiary, TTL Electric Fuel Pvt Ltd, to focus on EV charging infrastructure.
- Currently operates 67 locations across 9 cities in India, charging around 2,000 vehicles daily.
- Plans to set up EV charging stations on selected highways by FY 26, specifically for heavy trucks.
