Vinesh Phogat deserves all the praise for her hardwork and performance. However, during the protests one of the demands was *direct selection of Commonwealth Medalists for Olympics without trial* which was not agreed to. She used to fight in 53kg category and had not achieved anything in Olympics. Last year she had lost to Antim Panghal in the Nationals twice and hence the demand. Anyway she had to appear for selection trials and again she lost to Antim Panghal twice. Thereafter she appealed for an opportunity to reduce weight and appear for selection trials of 50kg. Considering her legacy of International medals it was accepted, she was given time to reduce weight and special selection trials were held separately for 50kg category after more than a month. She qualified and rest is history. Had she remained obstinate about competing in 53kg category, where she has a height disadvantage, she nay not have achieved anything.
Sometimes the life and destiny have some definite plans for us, but we want to get things only our way. It's better to be flexible and adapt to what the life offers. Therein lies the biggest opportunity.
