Nifty 50 index shows a summary of how the stocks of India's 50 biggest listed companies are performing – up or down.

Nifty 50 Total Returns Index (TRI) includes the dividend paid by these companies, and shows the overall performance.

This is why, value of a TRI is always higher than the usual index. Ex: Nifty 50 TRI is currently around 33,300 while Nifty 50 is around 22,600.
