Salient Features:

1. The Bonds are Sovereign guaranteed by Govt of India

2. SGB provides 2.50% interest p.a. which physical gold investment does not provide.

3. The minimum investment is 1 gram and maximum upto 4 Kg

4. The Bonds is of 8 years with option of early redemption (offered by RBI) every 6 months starting from 5 years 6 months onwards

6. The bonds can be sold anytime on the stock exchanges and thus offering liquidity when funds are needed

1. Interest is taxable as per tax slabs
