A lot many people ask me whether it's good to keep an acquarium in their houses or work places.
I recommend them not to have one.
Acquarium as a decorative item was introduced somewhere in the beginning of twentieth century in Europe.
Why is it not recommended?
It's because the way the behaviour of fishes affect our subconscious mind and inturn our lives.
Just to give you a small experience. A gold fish that was kept in a small glass bowl. When there was a requirement of cleaning up the bowl, the fish was released in a bigger tub.
The fish, though was now in a bigger water body, it still was making small circles of the size of the bowl.
By living in the small restricted area of the bowl for a long time, the fish had given up and was conditioned to be living in smaller space.
That's how the mind works.
One of the observations of having an acquarium in the house was, that the family was experiencing absolute stagnation in almost all the dimensions. There was no progress.
Some people find acquarium useful to reduce stress.
There are many alternatives to reduce stress, like meditation, music, chanting etc.
