In fact, during normal circumstances, the moment you see any corporate offering you more than 1.0 - 1.25% on its FD over an equivalent SBI rate for the same tenure, investigate the reason for it. There has to be some risk embedded there somewhere.
Please go for only AAA-rated corporate FDs and nothing else. We, at first don't even look at anything below AAA. Remember DHFL and IL&FS were AAA rated when they went down.
