Foreign Minister Jaishankar has very aptly stated that Europe should come out of the mindset that the Europe problems are the world problems and the way he has handled which side to choose between the USA or China was the best way of responding to the question where one does not want to give its commitment from which one has to retract at a later stage.
He could have also added that in politics there are no permanent enemies or friends but permanent interests. However, full marks for deflecting the question as one should never open the cards to others.
