Would like to share you an incident personally happened with me today 4 Jan 22 at 5.22pm and I guess is a new trend in mobile online fraud.
A lady called me and mentioned she is calling from BharatPe app. A fruit vendor had taken a loan of 1Lac and my mobile no. is linked as a guaranter and that fruit vendor is defaulter now so to avoid any further discomfort to you, please call this fruit vendor (she shared me some no. (but by mistake I missed it) and tell him to di-link my mobile no. as a guaranter. I mentioned her that your no. as per Truecaller is from some car agency and not BharatPe so she told there can be some mistake by Truecaller. I said ok, then if you want me to delink the mobile no. please send me an official email from BharatPe email id bcoz I can't guarantee mobile conversation as legal. She got irritated and started using abuse language so I told her please stop all these nonsense and stop fooling people around.
When She came to know that this customer can't be fooled so she disconnected the call. So my request please be sensitive with such fraudulent calls and do not entertain, neither call the mobile no. they provide you because you never know what kind of scam can happen after calling that mobile no.
