It can't go lower than this. 100 rooms of Ashoka Hotel in Delhi have been attached to the Primus Hospital for the exclusive use of the (Hon'ble) judges, their families, and judicial officers of the Delhi High Court.
Can we call it that standards cannot go lower than this when the Court creates an exclusive facility for its own use? Can we call it crass, insensitive, and an act of timidity? We have been blaming govt, politicians, and bureaucrats for abandoning the people; and lastly, can we call it that here the judiciary has joined the bandwagon by this selfish act.
We never trusted a news item circulating last year that most of the MPs/ MLAs have converted a room each in their homes into an ICU by diverting and attaching govt resources of ventilators etc. When one sees the courts also usurping the resources for exclusive use, the news becomes authentic. Can we call this act of the Court by invoking various provisions of the Disaster Management and Epidemic acts for the creation of this exclusive facility is shameful, insensitive, and selfish? It's so callous that all this has been done in the name of public interest?
This is a classical case of Atamnirbharta- each man for himself.
Whose door a common man should knock, My Lord, to get the basic treatment of CoViD?
Can we say that Kejriwal is doing this to make the judges go soft against him in the handling of the Coronavirus pandemic?
We look forward to some sense to prevail as it is going to send a wrong signal to one and all almighty in the power corridors and they will follow the same example set by the judges and one should not let it become a precedent.
