Now we are going to share a methodology which can save a quite a lot of bucks for you as you can visit password protected sites by pretending your visit as a Googlebot.
To make it simpler to understand Google indexes the site by sending its spiders which are known as Googlebot. Now everpne wants to be indexed by Google and thus they do have a separate account for Google in their password protected site.
Please use following steps to pose yourself as a Google bot:
Get Firefox
- Install the User Agent Switcher plugin for Firefox.
- Restart Firefox to complete the installation.
- User Agent Switcher -> Options -> Options. In the window that opens, select the User Agents tab and press Add.
- Add a new user agent. Write Googlebot for the description and Googlebot/2.1+(+http://www.google(dot)com/bot.html)” in the User Agent box as shown above. Press OK and you’re good to go (remove dot with actual in url)
As a net result, you will be able to visit all the sites which appear on Google’s search results despite being password protected. however do not try it on us as ours is based on a different system and you will not be able to bypass it.
