Deterrence is a must to ensure peace in the world order and today as Indians we are proud that we now have a missile defence shield which can be put in place at short notice to protect at least two cities. This missile shield is comparable to US Patriot 3 system. If we have to make a guess for these cities, than it is likely to be Mumbai and Delhi.
Now it is a cheers time as we are a part of elite countries who have missile umbrella capability in place. This is courtesy Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and by virtue of test firing of Agni missile upto the range of 5000 Kms. Now atleast we have a capability to shoot a missile upto 2,000 km range. The year 2016 may see us upgrading this umbrella against 5000 Kms missiles.
