Any strike cripples the nation and adversely affects the economy. Air India operations were affected to a great extent because of the strike as more than 90 per cent of its flights were cancelled for a number of days.
The maximum flights which were disrupted were of domestic sector. The airline had reported a daily revenue loss of Rs 20 crore and the amount of man hours which have been lost can not be measured in terms of revenue loss. The harassment caused is just non tolerable as Air India should not book flights if they know that they are going to have strike or should inform the customers well in time to avoid physical and mental harassment to the passengers.
