AVT Natural Products (AVTNPL) operates through its strategic business units of marigold oleoresins, spice oleoresin and essential oil and value-added tea. It was incorporated on March 12, 1986. The company has categorized products into natural flavors, natural colors, essential oils, antioxidants and specialty products. With 35,000 acres producing 100,000 metric tons of marigold flowers, the marigold business is an integrated project starting from seed development and going on to oleoresin with capability to produce feed grade to nutraceutical grade products. Its product range includes paprika oleoresin, turmeric extracts, marigold extract, rosemary extract, oleoresin rosemary viscous liquid, green tea, paprika capsicum, and other specialties. Through it contract farming model, the company offers integrated solutions. The manufacturing plants are located in Tumkur and Bydagi in Karnataka, Sathyamangalam in Tamil Nadu, Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh, Chichkeda in Madhya Pradesh, and Aluva in Kerala. In September 2007, the new plant in China started processing marigold flowers.
With post harvest processing centers across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, the company has an extraction capacity of 15,000 MTPA of marigold meal, 6,000 MTPA of paprika pericarp, and 1,000 MTPA of multiproducts. Certifications include ISO 9001:2000, HACCP, Kosher (by Circle U), vendor certified by McCormick (USA) and Kemin Foods, and Halal. The company has alliances with US-based Ball Helix and Kemin Health and agreements with Pan American Seeds and Chrysantis. The wholly-owned subsidiary AVT Natural Pte, Singapore has Tonghe AVT Natural, China as its subsidiary and has an agreement with Kemin Foods L.C. (USA) for managing their wholly-owned subsidiary in Thailand, Siagra Company. Credited with being the largest exporter of marigold oleoresins, the company also exports cured vanilla beans.
