Atul was incorporated in the year 1947. The company was formerly known as Atul Products and was founded by Kasturbhai Lalbhai. The company`s business interest includes manufacturing dyes and dye intermediates, agro-chemicals, aromatic like para-anisaldehyde, epoxy resins and pharma intermediates.
The company joined hands with American Cyanamid Corp (1952), Imperial Chemical Industries (1955) and Ciba-Geigy (1960) to form 3 joint venture companies respectively, namely, Cyanamid India, Atic Industries and Cibatul respectively. Atul operates through six business divisions, namely, agrochemicals, aromatics, bulk chemicals and intermediates, colors, pharmaceuticals and intermediates and polymers. It has a registered office in Ahmedabad whereas its corporate headquarters is located in Atul, Gujarat.
