Great Eastern Shipping Company (GESHIP) was incorporated in the year 1948. It is a private sector shipping and offshore oil field services provider. Great Eastern Shipping Company has two business divisions, namely, shipping and offshore oil field services. The shipping division transports crude oil, petroleum products, gas and dry bulk commodities.The offshore oil field service division offers services to the oil companies in carrying out offshore exploration and production activities by providing exploratory drilling rigs, offshore support vessels, tugs and construction barge. The shipping business has been awarded the ISO 9001: 2000 standard certification by DNV. GESHIP has four subsidiaries internationally, with offices in London, Singapore, Sharjah and India. Greatship (India) is the wholly owned subsidiary of the company incorporated in 2002. Apart from Greatship (India), the company has 3 wholly owned subsidiaries, namely, Great Eastern Shipping Co., London, Greatship (Singapore), Singapore and Great Eastern Chartering LLC - FZC, Sharjah.
