BOC India (BOCINDIA) is now Linde India, part of the BOC Group, is a leading supplier of gases and related products and services in India. The company was incorporated on Jan. 24, 1935. The non-executive chairman is Susim Mukul Datta, and E.R. Raj Narayanan, the managing director of the company.
The company operates in the four business areas of industrial gases, medical gases, special gases, and projects. Industrial gases include bulk atmospheric gases, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and a full range of compressed industrial gases excluding LPG. The company provides consultancy and highest safety measures while providing gases like oxygen, nitrous oxide, entonox and carbon dioxide. It provides over 20,000 special calibration and instrumentation gases to industries like petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, electronics, semi-conductor, paper, universities, and many others.
The projects division provides design, project engineering and execution across industries like steel manufacturing, food processing, electronics, and many others. The company has more than 20 production facilities, including one of Asia`s largest air separation units. BOC India is to set up a Rs 2,400 million gas plant in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh to produce oxygen (56,575 tons), nitrogen and argon gases. It has joint venture with Inox Air Products for long term gas supply to JSW Steel; a 10-year, long-term agreement with Adhunik Metaliks for setting up and operating a 100 tons a day air separation unit; and long-term gas supply contracts with GKN Sinter Metals and Electrosteel Castings for supply of 420 Nm3 of nitrogen per hour and 35 tons per day of oxygen, respectively. The company has 40 warehouses and depots, 100 dealers and more than 100 dedicated tankers in the distribution fleet.
