Blue Star (BLUESTAR) is India`s largest central air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration company. The company was incorporated on Jan. 20, 1949 and was converted into a public limited company in 1969. The chairman and managing director of the company is Ashok M. Advani and Suneel M. Advani, the vice chairman and managing director. It offers products and services in central air-conditioning (screw and scroll chillers, ducted splits, etc), room air conditioners (window, split), commercial refrigeration (deep freezers, milk coolers, etc), cold storage (modular cold rooms, etc), specialty cooling products (process chillers, etc), and service solutions (standard, contract conditions, etc). The company offers specialized solutions for banks, builders, hotels, ..etc. International operations comprise of projects involving design, engineering, execution and commissioning of HVAC systems, and products including supply of room air-conditioners, central air-conditioning products and refrigeration products. Manufacturing facilities are in Thane, Dadra, Bharuch and Himachal Pradesh. A new plant is coming up in Wada, Maharashta. Blue Star has technical tie-ups with Kolpak, USA (cold rooms); Heat Craft (freezing units); Rheem, USA (technical support), Eaton Williams (precision equipments); and strategic alliance with ISA, Italy for supermarket and food refrigeration solutions. It has business alliances with Siemens (switchgears), Danfoss of Netherlands (compressors), DuPont (refrigerants), General Electric Corp of USA (motors), Hanbell of Taiwan (screw compressors) and Copeland of USA (system design). The company recently secured an order for air-conditioning the MediCity project at Gudgaon. It has 23 offices and clients include 3M, AC Neilson, ABN AMRO, Air India, BARC, Amul, Britannia, Apollo, Sahara India and many more. The company exports to the Middle East and Europe.
