It was good that RBI stuck to its guns and only raised 25 basis points in repo rate and same was already factored by the market. As a result negative effect was not seen in the market. However this rate cycle is not going to reverse in year 2011 and Reserve bank of India has raised concerns about India’s worsening economic indicators and their impact on growth. The RBI will watch the impact of rate increases on the inflation trajectory and implications of global developments to change its course.
