Vadilal Industries (VADILINDQ) operates through its divisions of ice-cream, food processing and forex services. It is part of the Vadilal group, which has business interests in processed food, real estate and construction, industrial gas and other chemicals, and forex advisory services besides ice-cream. Vadilal Enterprises and Vadilal Chemicals are other group companies. The ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 22000:2005 certified company has got the largest fleet of refrigerated vehicles in India delivering ice-cream, backed by a strong distribution network comprising of C&F agents, distributors and retail dealers and helped by a strong team of marketing personnel. The processing units are located at Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in Gujarat and Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh with installed capacities of 37,740 Kl ice-cream, 105 million paper cups and lids, and 21 million sugar cones.
The company has clearly dominated the market in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana and Delhi and has presence in several other states. The processed foods division processes and markets a wide variety of fruits, vegetables and ready-to-serve Indian foods. The manufacturing unit is located at Dharampur in South Gujarat with an installed capacity of 5,400 TPA processed foods. The division also exports several of these products to the European Union, the Middle East, Asia Pacific region and the US. It has introduced a new range of products in FY08 such as ready meals, nan and kulcha, Punjabi samosas, ready-to-serve retort packs and other South Indian frozen products. The forex division of the company conducts full-fledged money changers activities to purchase/sale foreign currencies and travelers checks as licensed by RBI. The division has a category - II RBI licence to deal in the buying and selling of currencies and travelers checks of all traded currencies. It is the authorized stock holders of traveler checks of American Express travel-related service.
