FAG bearings (FAGPREBE), incorporated in 1962 as Precision Bearings, manufactures and sells anti-friction ball bearings and cylindrical and spherical roller bearings. It has technical and financial collaboration with Fag Kugelfischer Gerog Schaefer AG, Germany. FAG Roller Bearings is its joint venture company which produces tapered roller bearings. The company has two manufacturing facilities in the country. FAG manufactures ball bearings (deep groove, four point and self aligning), cylindrical roller and spherical roller bearings and tapered roller bearings. 65% of its revenues come from the ball bearings, while exports contribute about 13%. FAG has a market share of around 14%. Its products find applications in various industries like construction machinery, material handling equipment, paper manufacturing, windmills, commercial vehicles, ..etc. The Indian Railways has been a major client for the company. It supplies bearings for traction motors and suspensions and roller bearing axle boxes for high speed locomotives. Apart from bearings, the company also supplies mounting and dismounting devices and lubricants for maintenance activities. Important clients include automotive companies like Bajaj Auto, Maruti Udyog, Telco, Ford, GM, John Deere, ..etc. The company also supplies to the NTPC and BHEL thermal power plants.
