The D-day has arrived and we should be ready for another hike as Reserve Bank Of India is going to hike repo rate by 25 basis points to 7.5% on 16 June i.e. Thursday and it is expected that cash reserve ratio (CRR) will remain unchanged. If RBI hikes repo rate by 25 bps, it is also anticipated that lending rate hike and deposit rate hike may also take place. Thus trade only in specific shares as it holds the mantra of making the money in stock market. Sector-wise, rate-sensitive banking and realty shares and stocks of export-oriented IT companies bore the brunt of the selling due to impending RBI policy and this may continue for tomorrow.No doubt we can say that a stalemate is existing as indecisive state is existing in the market due to fears of policy announcement and couple it with uncertainty over fuel price hike. Now the clear trend will start emerging wef 17 June as RBI policy and advance tax numbers will determine future trend. The indices are trading in a range bound market with a negative trend and same is validated by Nifty moving below 20 DMA and thus it can fall till 5389 levels. It can get support at 5400 level which can act as a psychological support. Now if NIfty sustains above 5480 than only some technical bounce back may be seen in the market. The BSE market breadth was negative. Out of 2,954 stocks traded, 1,641 stocks declined while 1,200 stocks advanced.
Commodity Tips
Oil prices hovered around $98 a barrel, as the dollar strengthened and caution prevailed ahead of an inventory report from the U.S. Department of Energy Information Administration later in the day. The dollar snapped a two-day losing streak against the euro and was unchanged against the yen.
The price of gold moved down as the U.S. dollar was steady amid inflation data. Gold for August edged down $6.40 to $1,518.00 an ounce.
Moon Eclipse
The day is also crucial as full moon eclipse has occured and thus silver, sugar and rice commodities being white in colour may have rate effect which can be either extremes. This eclipse is good for people with sun signs virgo, libra and acquarian. They may get some financial benefit in short time ranging from 41 days to 6 months.
Forex Market Update
Moody's Investors Service said it may cut the credit ratings of French banks Credit Agricole, BNP Paribas, and Societe Generale SA over their investment in Greece.
