Today volatility was the star of the day as shares lost ground and same can be attributed to global cues with reports coming that Brazils will curb capital inflows and will tax them 2% of their investments in the market. Same move is being contemplated for India too as we have a record inflow from FIIs. Trend of Nifty is down and same is also confirmed by the option data. As we study option front we find that implied volatility has increased by around 150-200 basis points, indicating lack of clarity and uncertainty at higher levels.

Bulls tried to push the market beyond 5050, but aggressive selling in metal, banking and realty shares failed them and pulled the market down.As a net result BSE Sensex closed at 16,786, down 213 points or 1.25% and the S&P CNX Nifty fell 66 points or 1.30% to 4,989.

Important IMEI Number update

• It is important to note that chinese handsets without IMEI number are likely to be banned by 01 Dec 09. Now we will tell you the procedure to check IMEI number of your handset and for that type *#06# on mobile keypad and soon a 15 digit long unique number will appear on your mobile screen.
• This 15 digit unique identification is IMEI number of your mobile handset. However china is a pain in a** and thus it has even sent sets with duplicate pins or non authenticated sets and thus one can verify the IMEI number and people can validate IMEI numbers of their handsets by sending their IMEI numbers of two numbers 57886 and 53232.
• Thus one has to just Type IMEI (in Capital) space IMEI number and then send it to either 57886 or 53232. Within few minutes, people will receive a message about validity of IMEI number.

GLOBAL UPDATE
US stocks extended a global drop as concern grew that the rally has outpaced the prospects for economic growth. The Dow Jones, S&P 500 and NASDAQ fell 0.90%, 1.34% and 1.58%, respectively. Technology stocks drove a broad-based US sell-off as a brokerage took a dim view of demand prospects for the semiconductor sector. Bank of America-Merrill Lynch cut its 2010 growth outlook for the semiconductor industry on concerns about a rising inventory glut. It downgraded 10 stocks, including Intel Corp, Texas Instruments Inc and Marvell Technology Corp.
