1. It is a peculiar situation as Rupee is going to touch the magic figure of 50 against a dollar and it is a cheer time for the export oriented units and information tech companies but the stock market is showing a dismal picture for all related stocks. More pain may be in offing as US treasury secretary Henry Paulson has stated that more banks may collapse.
2. Crude is hovering near $79 per barrel i.e allmost 100% down from its peak and still Indian stock market is bleeding when it should have had been celebrating the occasion. Babus at the petroleum ministry please wake up as you have interlinked the price of crude with international market and now have you forgotten to bring the price down. Please reduce the misery of common people by reducing the petrol and diesel rates as they are supposed to get aligned on a fortnightly basis and I have not seen any decrease in the price of the said commodity or you want heaven's call to remind you off your task or it is a deliberate design to fill the coffers of PSU producing crude.
3. Gold is again back in lusture and analysts worldwide are predicting $1200 per ounce as people want to hedge teir investments and none can beat gold in terms of safety. Do remember to check the Indian gold Rates in Indian currency to buy at correct time as took advantage at the level of Rs 11150 and bought some gold. It felt as if I had bought at wrong level as gold thereafter dipped below 11000 level but it was only a brief wait and gold appreciated post people got wind of Lehman crisis. However mine quoting buying gold example is just a point to prove that it is very difficult to catch the market bottom and top.
