1. Fuel price hike will lead to negative sentiment for auto industry for a few weeks. As a net result sales of big cars is bound to get effected.
2. However I am of the opinion that their is no need for Govt to announce the fuel price hike and cause the stir in stock market and also give chance to political parties to gain mileage from an announcement which is to be taken with a pinch of salt.
3. As a solution I suggest that a central server be installed from where via satellite and live prices prevailing in international market be relayed at each petrol pump. It should be made compulsory for all petrol pumps to have this gadget installed. So a customer can see the price and pay accordingly for the fuel.
4. Now the question for subsidy arises which can be slowly be phased out as the same can be changed electronically without creating any hue and cry and initially the subsidy being given may be factored in the prices being relayed.
5. When no specfic announcement will be made people will auto get into the habit of paying for the fuel at the correct price.
