1. As suggested by me that it is better to avoid trading today and the same thing happened with a whipsaw in the market and it led to a bad close for the May series as heavy selling pressure was witnessed in market in late trade.
2. Sensex closed at 16,316, down 209 points and Nifty at 4835, down 83 points from the previous close.
3. CNX Midcaps index was down 0.24%
4. BSE Smallcaps index down 0.64%.
5. Bankex, auto and oil and gas stocks saw weakness.
6. Market breadth was negative with 449 advances against 788 declines on the NSE.
7. Top Nifty gainers included L&T, Reliance Communications and Cipla while losers included Tata Motors, M&M and Suzlon.
