1. The market was volatile initially however buying was seen at lower levels later during the day.
2. Sensex closed at 16,542, up 202 points from the previous close and Nifty was up at 4921 i.e. was up by 57 points.
3. Gainers included Satyam Computers, ITC, HDFC and Hindalco, while losers included Bajaj Auto, Reliance Energy, Bharti Airtel and Mahindra & Mahindra.
4. The market was closed on 06 Mar due to celebrations of Mahashivratri.
