1. Recap: Clutch Auto gave a profit of Rs 15/-, SRF gave a profit of Rs 12/-, Hind Oil exploration gave a profit of Rs 4.5/- and MTNL gave a profit of Rs 3/- for every share bought and this was despite a sharp fall in the stock market as was written by me in bold letters.
2. Market Activity During day:The market succumbed to profit booking today, that came is due to weak global cues as well as profit booking by FIIs in the holiday season. The Sensex ended losing 769 points from the previous close, at 19,261. Nifty also lost 270 points and shut shop at 5777. All BSE sectoral indices closed lower, with BSE Metal, Realty, Capital Goods and Oil & Gas indices being beaten down the most. Market breadth was extremely weak, with 210 advances against 1,007 declines on the NSE. The top gainer on the Sensex was HUL, while losers include DLF, NTPC, TATA STEEL and HDFC.
3. Nifty Update for 18 Dec: Watch Nifty level 5699. However a technical bounce back is not ruled out tomorrow.
