1. I take the opportunity to answer to one of the queries raised by one of the readers in his comments for the reason of sugar prices going down.He had made a comment in respect to my post on the requirement of holding minimum 3 years as a time frame to gain considerably from sugar stocks.
2. The sugar stocks are taking the beating because of the following reasons:
(a) 11 million tonnes spare sugar available world wide.
(b) Compulsory blending directions for petrol with ethanol not implemented in numerous countries.
3.Now the reasons for which sugar stocks will gain in 3 years time span:
(a) India sugar output may be affected due to crop going bad due to rains.If production is less than 30 million tonnes than our sugar stocks will rule.
(b) Govt deciding compulsory blending of petrol with ethanol which is a byeproduct in the manufacture to ensure green fuel.
(c) Brazil committing a larger amount of sugar for its green fuel project and thus India can vie for a greater pie of sugar exports ranging from 2-5 million tonnes.
4. I am of the opinion that the Indian Govt will make atleast 5% blending cumpulsory shortly and that is the reason Praj Industries which provides equipment for production of ethanol blending is in great demand and has its life time highs recently.
5. One can gain substantially by holding sugar stocks for atleast 3 years as sugar stocks future appears bright in a larger time frame.
6. I hope my answer raises my reader query which had remained unanswered for a long time.
