India had a security threat as data being sent through Blackberry was not accessible to security agencies as servers were located out of India. However now Blackberry has set the server in Bombay and as a result security agencies can maintain an eagle eye on the data. An area of concern which remains to be addressed is Reliance in motion (RIM) is still unable to provide interception of highly encrypted data of their BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and this is an area for grave concern.
However a point needs to be seen is that Blackberry’s local server setup is not allowing real time monitoring and interception of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) service. However well begun is half done and India will egt them toe their line.
Positives
Security is foremost and this is a positive development for the nation.
Negative
People may not subscribe the service as their data will be always under scanner. They should not worried if they are doing legal business.
