Yesterday Share Market

Monday was good as the two-day losing streak was snapped and same was courtesy strong Asian cues. The profit booking was the order of the day ahead of the fears of  Thursday's settlement of current month derivative contracts and the Union Budget due on Friday.  European markets also prompted investors and traders to close their long positions. Sensex pared its gains steadily before finishing at 16,192, up 45 points or 0.28%, and the Nifty rose by 12 points or 0.24% to 4,856.

An interesting point to note is that more than 480 tonnes of gold has been imported in year 2009 and probably we may be sitting on the biggest gold reserves in the nation.
