State Bank Secure OTP App - What & How Ans

State Bank Secure OTP App

"State Bank Secure OTP" is an OTP generation App for Internet Banking transactions (INB), performed through Onlinesbi and State Bank Anywhere App, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store and IOS App Store.

1. Who can use the application?

Any internet banking user can use the application for generating OTP for INB related transactions/activities.

2. I am an INB user with enquiry rights only. Can I use the application?

Yes. Activities like LPG registration, Windows App registration etc are not of financial nature but they still require OTP. Hence all users can use the State Bank Secure OTP App.

3. What is the use of the application?

The application will replace the need for receiving the OTP for INB transactions via SMS. OTP can be generated using the application after it is registered. SIM card is not needed for Offline OTP. The application will provide OTP with Internet connectivity when Online OTP is chosen. When the internet connectivity is not available in mobile the Offline OTP option can be used.

4. How do I get the application?

The application will be available in the market place of Android and IOS. The app will also be made available for Windows and Blackberry shortly.

5. How do I register for this application?

Enter your Internet Banking (INB) credentials to register for the application. Enter the OTP received in your INB registered mobile number and set your mPIN to complete the one time registration for the App.

6. I am not getting the OTP for registration of the App, why?

Please login to your internet banking and go to Profile>>High Security Options and ensure that the "Mode of Authentication through OTP" is selected as "SMS".

7. Can I use the application in multiple mobile phones?
No. Once you have registered for the application in one device the same device has to be used for generating OTP.
If you wish to register for the App in another mobile please de-register the App from your Internet Banking>> Profile>> High Security Options.

8. What if I lost my phone where the Secure OTP App has been registered? How do I perform INB transactions now?

If the mobile is lost/stolen immediately login to Onlinesbi and go to "Profile>> High Security Option" and deregister the State Bank Secure OTP App. You will immediately start receiving OTP in your INB registered mobile number for your transactions.
Alternatively, if you are using another mobile then register the new mobile to use the State Bank Secure OTP App.

9. What happens if I forgot my mPIN for the application?

After 3 invalid attempts to login to your application using the mPIN the application will be reset. You have to register again to the application using your INB credentials and the OTP received in your INB registered mobile number.

There is a forgot mPin option provided in the login screen of the application which will de-register the application from the mobile. Please login to Onlinesbi and go to "Profile>> High Security Option" and deregister the State Bank Secure OTP App for receiving SMS OTP. You can re-register the application again in your mobile and continue using the same for OTP generation.

10. What are the options available in the State Bank Secure OTP App?

You can generate Online and Offline OTP using the application. There is a settings menu where there is a facility to change your mPin and for de-registering the State Bank Secure App from your mobile.

11. How do I de-register the application from mobile?

You can click on the de-register option provided in the "Settings" menu within the application. Then go to Onlinesbi "Profile>> High Security Option" and deregister the State Bank Secure OTP App from there as well to complete the de-registration process.
Please note that after de-registration you will start receiving the OTP in your mobile number that has been registered with INB.

12. Will this application generate OTP for my State Bank Anywhere App also?

Yes. Once you have registered the State Bank Secure OTP application, all transactions that require OTP done through State Bank Anywhere version 4.2.0 and above will prompt for online/offline mode of OTP to be chosen. You can use your State Bank Secure OTP for generation of the OTP for such transactions.

Please note that if you are using an older version of State Bank Anywhere it is recommended that you update the same by visiting the application market place. You will no longer receive OTP through SMS for the transaction done through State Bank Anywhere.

13. What is Online OTP and Offline OTP in my State Bank Secure OTP app?

If you select "Online" option in Onlinesbi in the transaction confirmation page then please select "Online OTP" in the State Bank Secure OTP app also to generate the OTP.

If you select "Offline" in Onlinesbi in the transaction confirmation page, a random number will be shown in the next page where OTP is to be entered, now please select "Offline OTP" in State Bank Secure OTP app. Please enter the random number in the SB Secure OTP app and generate an OTP.
14. State Bank Secure OTP App is showing a message that there are no live transactions to generate OTP when I click on the online option inside the app, why?

You have to select the online option and click on submit in your Onlinesbi/SB Anywhere transaction page before choosing online option in the SB Secure OTP app.

If problem still persists, we recommend that you de-register and register the application again.

How Car Rates Affected by Budget 2016?

Budget 2016 has embarked on infra and agriculture and to provide money for all the social projects it has already levied a number of taxes which has led to increase in the cost of the cars.

The government has decided to impose 2.5 per cent cess on diesel vehicles of length not exceeding 4 meter and engine capacity not exceeding 1,500cc, while higher engine capacity and SUVs and bigger sedans were slapped with a cess of 4 per cent on the value of the car.

These are over an above a cess of 1 per cent on petrol/ LPG/CNG driven vehicles of length not exceeding 4 meter and engine capacity not exceeding 1,200cc.

It is worthwhile to mention that Tata Motors increased price to the range of Rs 2,000 to Rs 35,000 on vehicles priced between Rs 2.04 lakh and Rs Rs 15.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

On Monday, Hyundai Motor India had said that it plans to hike vehicle prices ranging from Rs 3,000 on entry-level small car Eon to Rs 80,000 on SUV SantaFe, which are priced between from Rs 3.20 lakh and Rs 30.79 lakh.

Honda Cars India also plans to raise prices in a range of Rs 4,000 to Rs 80,000. The company sells six models from entry-level Brio to premium SUV CR—V, priced between Rs 4.27 lakh and Rs 25.23 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).

So, if you are still struck with the idea of buying car; go and negotiate with the dealer tomorrow itself as they may give you at old rates as month end targets are always on their mind. You have to decide the car and be ready with cash on the table and they may give you an excellent discount.

Budget 2016 in a Nutshell to Get You the Gist

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented his third Budget, wherein; he stressed on Indian economy's resilience amidst the current global economic turmoil. Government has given 3.5% fiscal deficit target Inspite of global and domestic headwinds. This depicts the government is optimistic on the domestic economic condition. Another positive is that the Finance Minister has not hiked the service tax. But GST is being fully ignored here, which is not so impressive. STT on options is to be raised to 0.05% from 0.017%.

Focus is on infrastructure and agriculture sector and appears to be more to appease the farmers and people with lower income group to rectify the present govt failure in Bihar elections.

Relief to small tax payers: The government raises the ceiling of tax rebate under section 87A from Rs 2000 to Rs 5000 to lessen tax burden on individuals with income up to Rs 5 lakhs. Increase the limit of deduction of rent paid under section 80GG from Rs 24000 per annum to Rs 60000, to provide relief to those who live in rented houses.

Tax

Infrastructure and agriculture cess to be levied.
Excise duty raised from 10 to 15 per cent on tobacco products other than beedis
1 per cent service charge on purchase of luxury cars over Rs. 10 lakh and in-cash purchase of goods and services over Rs. 2 lakh.
SUVs, Luxury cars to be more expensive. 4% high capacity tax for SUVs.
Companies with revenue less than Rs 5 crore to be taxed at 29% plus surcharge
Limited tax compliance window from Jun 1 - Sep 30 for declaring undisclosed income at 45% incl. surcharge and penalties
Excise 1 per cent imposed on articles of jewellery, excluding silver.
0.5 per cent Krishi Kalyan Cess to be levied on all services.
Pollution cess of 1 per cent on small petrol, LPG and CNG cars; 2.5 per cent on diesel cars of certain specifications; 4 per cent on higher-end models.
Dividend in excess of Rs. 10 lakh per annum to be taxed at additional 10 per cent.

No changes have been made to existing income tax slabs
Rs 1,000 crore allocated for new EPF (Employees' Provident Fund) scheme
Govt. will pay EPF contribution of 8.33% for all new employees for first three years

Additional exemption of Rs. 50,000 for housing loans up to Rs. 35 lakh, provided cost of house is not above Rs. 50 lakh.

Government is launching a new initiative to provide cooking gas to BPL families with state support.
LPG connections to be provided under the name of women members of family: Rs 2000 crore allocated for 5 years for BPL families.
2.87 lakh crore grants to gram panchayats and municipalities - a quantum jump of 228%.
300 urban clusters to be set up under Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission
Four schemes for animal welfare.

Health

2.2 lakh renal patients added every year in India. Basic dialysis equipment gets some relief.
A new health protection scheme for health cover upto 1 lakh per family.
National Dialysis Service Prog with funds thru PPP mode to provide dialysis at all district hospitals.
Senior citizens will get additional healthcare cover of Rs 30,000 under the new scheme
PM Jan Aushadhi Yojana to be strengthened, 300 generic drug store to be opened

Education

Scheme to get Rs.500 cr for promoting entrepreneurship among SC/ST
10 public and 10 private educational institutions to be made world-class.
Digital repository for all school leaving certificates and diplomas. Rs. 1,000 crore for higher education financing.
Rs. 1,700 crore for 1500 multi-skill development centres.
62 new navodaya vidyalayas to provide quality education
Digital literacy scheme to be launched to cover 6 crore additional rural households
Entrepreneurship training to be provided across schools, colleges and massive online courses.
Objective to skill 1 crore youth in the next 3 years under the PM Kaushal Vikas Yojna-FM Jaitley
National Skill Development Mission has imparted training to 76 lakh youth. 1500 Multi-skill training institutes to be set up.

Energy

Rs. 3000 crore earmarked for nuclear power generation

Banking

Banks get a big boost: Rs 25,000 crore towards recapitalisation of public sector banks. Jaitley says: Banking Board Bureau will be operationalised, we stand solidly behind public sector banks.
Target of disbursement under MUDRA increased to 1,80,000 crore
Process of transfer of government stake in IDBI Bank below 50% started
General Insurance companies will be listed in the stock exchange
Govt to increase ATMs, micro-ATMs in post offices in next three years
