As we stated yesterday that a dead cat bounce back is not ruled out and same happened on the back of strong GDP data. Buoyed by good performance of agriculture and manufacturing, the economy grew by 8.9% in the second quarter, up from 8.7% in the year-ago period.The core infrastructure industries grew by 7% in October against 3.9% year-on-year and 2.7% in September, helped by cement and crude oil sectors. No doubt market is oversold however technically as per charts and other indicators Nifty is still in down trend. Thus one can see sideways movement in market for few days and if Nifty is able to sustain itself above the level of 5750, than a gradual recovery may be seen in the market. Indian market today closed higher for a second consecutive session on Tuesday , as robust second-quarter GDP data helped spur bargain hunting. After trading in the red in early trading, the 30-share BSE Sensex recovered sharply to hit a high of 19,610 before paring some gains and ending up 116 points or 0.6% higher at 19,521, with 19 of its components closing in the green. Likewise, the broader Nifty eased a little bit from the day's high to end up 33 points or 0.56% at 5,863.  Sensex recouped from day's lows on better-than-expected economic growth. It closed at 19,521.25 points. Nifty settled at 5,862.70, up 94.35 points.

We are in deep trouble if Nifty does not close above 5930 level as thereafter it can crash till 5500 levels. North Korea reportedly fired artillery shells across its western maritime border, prompting return fire from South Korea. At least four soldiers are said to have been hurt. The incident comes days after North Korea revealed it had a modern uranium enrichment plant -- potentially giving it a second route to a nuclear weapon. Nevertheless, the market staged a strong intraday rebound a steep intraday slide that pushed the key benchmark indices to two-month lows in afternoon trade. Moreover world is alos worried about on-going concern about Ireland's debt problems. The BSE 30-share Sensex fell 265.75 points or 1.33%, up 349 points from the day's low and off 150 points from the day's high.
All the sectoral indices on BSE were in the red. NSE's volatility index, India VIX, a gauge of traders' perception of near-term risks in the market based on options prices, jumped 16.71% to 23.26. India VIX is calculated based on the S&P CNX Nifty options prices. India VIX is a measure of the market's expectation of volatility over the next 30 calendar days.

But he shifted the blame on law officials and bureaucrats advising the Prime Minister. Swamy filed an affidavit on Monday in response to the PM's reply which stated that no delay has been caused from the PM's office in replying to his petition seeking sanctions to start prosecution of Raja in court.

The decision comes close on the heels of the market regulator giving exchanges the flexibility to offer either European style or American style stock options contracts. "All stock options contracts expiring on January 27, 2011 and onwards shall have European exercise style only," said a NSE circular. "Accordingly there shall be no interim exercise available for all stock options contracts expiring on January 27, 2011 and onwards and all the in-the-money stock options contracts shall get automatically exercised on the expiry day," it added. The circular further added that all existing month stock options contracts expiring on November 25, 2010 and December 30, 2010 shall continue to have American exercise style. Currently, only the American style contracts are allowed in the stock options segment. In September 2010, the total monthly stock options turnover was around Rs 1.09 lakh crore, the lowest when compared to stock futures, index futures and index options. Market participants attribute the low volumes to the presence of a large number of illiquid stocks. With the introduction of European style stock options, however, there is a likelihood that more players would enter the space,. Meanwhile, if a stock exchange wants to switch back to American style contracts, it can do so after getting the necessary approvals from the market regulator. "After opting for a particular style of exercise, a stock exchange may change to another style of exercise only after seeking prior approval of Sebi," said the Sebi circular.
