Can one quit his job to make money from stock market as a day trader?


1. A number of times I encounter a question from stock market traders who ask a particular question related to their leaving their professional job permanently and getting into day trading as a regular job. One of the readers asked that he has spent a considerable amount on an automatic trading platform, than my advice is that one need not spend hefty amount on these auto trading soft wares as one will need to work overtime to break even i.e. recover the cost of auto trading system. I will not recommend any body handing his hard earned money to auto softwares as it will lead to disaster as it is like running a car on auto pilot. Stock market is full of emotions and thus it does not behave the way an auto software functions.

4. Another question doing round in the corridors is the amount to be invested in stock market than a simple answer is 10 times the returns expected from the market. Beware of Reliance Money online trading software

1. I must say that speed of Reliance money software for trading is extremely poor as compared to India bulls "Powerindiabulls" software. I shifted to Reliance money due to better brokerage rate structure but now I am feeling the pain as the home page of Reliance money takes ages to load the page. I even tried assesing its instatrade software from broadband but the results were still not satisfactory for reliance money platform.

2. Indiabulls Powerindiabulls software loads broker type screen fast due to the software being loaded on the personal laptop or computer. However same is not the case with Reliance money as one has to choose the option of Insta trade or easy trade from the home page of Reliancemoney and thus the speed is slow. Frankly speaking it was a painful experience seeing the home page of reliance money load for easy trade segment as the insta trade refused to get loaded with Reliance communications USB modem as am generally mobile.


3. Only point in favour of Reliance money trading platform is that one is able to get the money transferred from the bank account to personal trading account whereas one has to give upto 12 hours to India bulls for the transferred amount to be credited in the trading account despite doing a banking transfer online. If one has urgency one can send them email and can get the same reflected manually in trading account which at times becomes a big headache. If somebody has a difference experience about reliance money please make your comments. Reliance money if you are listening than why don't you provide a CD with software like India bulls (Powerindiabulls software) so that speed will increase automatically. I do not see any improvement in the speed of Reliance money as a broker terminal till the time software is given to the trader. Even another pain is in form of a separate "key" provided which flashes a number each time one presses the same and one need to place the same in the log in window to get the assess to account. Why these guys have to make the system so complicated as invariably one is not carrying the key when one is mobile. Even online banking platforms do not have such elaborate security arrangements and due to all these loops one is not able to trade or trade with lots of difficulty.

4. Thus if speed is no problem and you have a broadband than you can go with Reliance money as they have competitive brokerage rate. However if you are a day trader than better stick to some good platform which provides speed with GPRS connection or USB modem in case you are mobile. However personally from security point of view I feel more comfortable with reliance money and ICICI direct as India bulls had cases where traders accounts were operated without the consent of the owner by representatives. So each has its pluses and minuses and one has to choose the best online trading platform as per an individual trading style. I have not tried Share Khan online trading platform and thus invite readers views on the said
subject. Readers are further requested to jot their experiences with other trading houses, so that online trading fraternity can benefit from their experience.

How I make Money from stock market?

1. If you remember I had written for Buying IDFC on 10 Oct 2008 and thereafter Bought IDFC at the level of Rs 48/- on 12 Oct 2008 and again undertook the review of IDFC and same was posted as Hot stock tip on 14 Oct 2008 and once again recommeded IDFC as a Best Stock Investment in Indian stock market for short term gain and same was given on 21 OCT 2008. Now time has come to book the profit in the said stock as stock has reached the level of 67 with in a period of 20 days. One is actually buying this stock near its support and selling near its resistance. One may miss the opportunity of making huge gains as IDFC is presently near its resistance, however one has to keep the greed under control and if the stock breaks out past its resistance than one has to be ready to leave the profit on the table and one should not regret the same as none has gone broke booking profit. If you remember I had written that I have bought substantial chunk of shares of IDFC and now I will be selling the same today and will book profit. Since market is showing a pull back rally and is likely to reverse from the levels of NSE Nifty 3300 value and thus one can just wait like a tiger for correct opportunity to pounce like a tiger on the 'Shikar'and here after booking profit we have to be patient and wait for correct entry price for IDFC to reenter in the stock.


2. I am utilising the principle of booking with 15%-20% gains though in case of IDFC gains will be close to 40% in a short span of 14 days. SO all those who bought on my advice can sell their shares with profit today and go smiling to the bank with profit to deposit or make merry. I hope all would have had made money in this stock as I had publicly announced that I am buying this stock and am now publicaly announcing that am selling the stock in order to book profit. One can reenter this stock with in the range of 45-50 Rupees. One can trade in this stock for a quick gain of Rs 15 as and when it again falls below 50 level. Now do not expect that it will reach its old dizzy heights as the easy finance days are over and infrastructure requires lot of investments. One can say that its chips are presently down due to global tremors in the financial market but definitely stock can be traded for quick gains with in a small trading band. I hope the method of making money from stock market has been amply proved with a live example. Thus one can say that one may not require to undertake numerous trades in stock market and instead can be a tiger and invest at right opportune moment in the right equity and can thus make money which is a rightful money for stock investors as day traders and long term investors needs to be rewarded with profit as no one has gone broke booking profits.
