Controller General of Defence Accounts, Ulan Batar Road, Palam, Delhi Cantt-110010 has issued instructions vide its circular no No. AN/XIV/14162/TA/DA/LTC Dated: 23.01.2012 and it states that central govt employees need to buy airticket only through Balnier Lawrie & Company and M/s Ashok Travels & Tours while proceeding on LTC (leave travel concession) or temporary duty (TD).
Just note that air tickets may be purchased directly from Airlines at Booking counters/Website of Airlines and to be on safer side always book with Indian airlines by visiting the airlines website or by visiting their office. However do not use the services of trip advisors like yaatra or makemytrip etc as you are bound to lose your money as same will not be reimbursed. If you are proceeding on LTC than you have to travel by Indian Airlines only.
The circular is harsh as it has ssued instructions that all cases of air travel where the guidelines issued by MoF, Deptt of Expenditure have not been followed, are to be disallowed at paying authority end without any reference being made to above HQrs office.
