PhysicsWallah, one of India’s fastest-growing edtech startups founded by Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, has announced its initial public offering (IPO) price band at ₹103–₹109 per share. The issue will open on November 11 and close on November 13, with listing expected on November 18.

At the upper price band, the IPO values the company at ₹31,169 crore — significantly higher than its last private valuation of $2.8 billion during its September 2024 funding round.

The total issue size stands at ₹3,480 crore, comprising a fresh issue of ₹3,100 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) worth ₹380 crore. Promoters Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari currently hold 40.31% stake each in the company, while WestBridge Capital, GSV Ventures, Lightspeed, and Hornbill Capital are key institutional investors.

Of the total proceeds, around ₹460.55 crore will be used for capital expenditure to expand offline and hybrid learning centres, while ₹548.30 crore is earmarked for lease payments of existing facilities.

Business Highlights and Growth

As of Q1 FY26, PhysicsWallah operated 303 learning centres across six business verticals, marking a remarkable 68% jump from 182 centres a year earlier. This rapid expansion underscores the company’s strong hybrid education strategy that blends digital content with offline engagement.

The company reported a 33% rise in operating revenue to ₹847 crore in Q1 FY26 compared to ₹635.2 crore a year ago. However, net loss widened to ₹125.5 crore, reflecting the impact of expansion-led costs and new centre fit-outs.
