Twilight Litaka Pharma (TWILITAKA) is a manufacturer of several brands for major national and international pharmaceutical companies. It was incorporated as a private limited company on Jan. 18, 1974 and converted into a public limited company on Dec. 9, 1985. Earlier known as Li Taka Pharmaceuticals, it got its present name on July 4, 2006. The Nucleus business divisions of the company focus on doctors and have strong brands like Seratid, Antif, Litacold, Litacid, Paranac, Temptal, Epixyl and Proten Z. Servicing dermatologists and gynaecologists, the Zenith division offers products on a regular basis. Nutra, the adjuvant and support therapy division, offers Calm Cream, useful in treating psoriases and eczema. In FY07, new products launched in the anti-infectives, and nutritional range included Lariclav, Zoxin S, Uneed powder, and Alertin among others. Manufacturing faciltites approved by WHO-GMP are located at Pimpri, Vadgaon and Vasai in Maharashtra and in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh.
The Pimpri plant has been approved by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India for its R&D facilities. Contract manufacturing services are offered on a principal-to-principal or on loan-license basis for companies like Novartis, Wockhardt, Cipla, Lupin, Serum and Pfizer. In May 2007, it signed an agreement with US-based Herbalife International India to develop new products of Herbalife and food supplement products for the Indian market. Another agreement with the Indian arm of a Malaysian company is in place for the manufacture of nutraceutical products. It signed a memorandum of understanding with Sami Labs, a Bangalore-based company engaged in nutraceuticals, to acquire proprietary rights over 17 trade marks. The Company has a well established distribution network across India and is registered with several central and state agencies. It has an exclusive marketing arrangement with Cipla for marketing its brands across 10 states in India.
