V-Guard Industries is engaged in the manufacture and marketing of electrical and electronic products. It was incorporated on Feb. 12, 1996 and got converted into a public limited company with the current name on Aug. 01, 2007. The ISO 9001:2000 certified company manufactures electronic voltage stabilizers, mono blocs, jet submersibles, compressor pumps, electric motors, insulated electrical cables, electric storage and instant water heaters, solar water heaters, UPS for computers, electric fans and generates power through windmills. Around 150 different models of submersible, centrifugal, self prime, compressor and jet-type pumps are available. Electrical cables include multi-core flat, multi-core round and house-wiring cables.
Products are marketed under the brand name V-Guard. The electrical cable facilities are located in Coimbatore. A low tension power cables plant with an installed capacity to process 3,000 MT of aluminum and 300 MT of copper per annum has been planned. The solar water heater plant and the electro-mechanical works division with R& D and pilot production plant for pumps are also located in Coimbatore. Its R&D labs for electronic products and electric geysers are located in Cochin. The company has tie-ups with more than 68 units spread across the southern states manufacturing products as per its needs and specifications. It has set up two windmills in Coimbatore with a total combined installed generation capacity of 1.35 million units of electricity per year. Recent awards include Best Productivity award for Medium Scale Industry from the Kerala State Productivity Council for 2007. With a network of over 100 distributors, 105 service centers, and 7,000 retailers across the country, it serves more than 40 million satisfied customers.
